What Is EBT?

EBT or Electronic Benefits Transfer is an umbrella term for all electronically issued benefits. For example, SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) has replaced the old-fashioned food stamps coupons and is distributed via an electronic account.

You can spend your benefits on just about any food-based groceries, and you’ll be given a plastic payment card, like a debit or credit card.

While some unapproved items are fairly obvious, like alcohol and tobacco, some unapproved items are still household essentials. For example, cleaning products and hygiene items are still necessary.

Fortunately, most stores allow you to make multiple payments on one load of shopping. This means that you can use your EBT balance to pay for food items, and your own money to buy non-food essential groceries.

Step Two: If you’ve forgotten your user ID, click the “Forgotten User ID” option below the login button. Follow the instructions on the information box to the right of the login box to create a new, suitable password.

Step Four: If you’re still having problems logging into your account, click the “help” option below the login button. This will open an information box to the left of the login box, and this info might help you identify your problem and successfully log into your account.
